The Name...
More than a century ago the California citrus industry was born in our own city of Riverside. The citrus boom rapidly brought much prosperity and attention to the entire region. The Packinghouse Brewing Company name is a nostalgic tribute to the area’s original citrus packinghouses and the hard working laborers that brought about California’s “Second Gold Rush”.
PBCo. is honored to carry on the same tradition of a strong work ethic and support to our community.
The founders of PBCo. have blended a respect for our local cultural heritage with a passion for finely crafted micro brews. The result is an offering of signature styles that are as rich as the cultural backdrop in which they were conceived.
The Founders...
Master Brewer Don McAllister has been brewing for friends and family for going on 17 years. Less than two years ago, friends Sam Stager and Tim Worthington approached Don about opening a craft brewery.
A simple idea quickly became a full fledged company through careful planning and hard work. Sam soon contacted fellow Notre Dame High School alumni, Paul Scott to tackle developing a logo and graphics for Packinghouse's brand identity. With the help of generous friends and family, this idea has finally materialized and Packinghouse is now sharing it's finely crafted beer with it's much appreciated thirsty patrons.
